With the changes in season and temperature, our attires change. In the scorching heat of summer, lightweight cotton fabric cools us down, whereas in freezing winter, heavy wool clothing provides us with warmth. But what if the same clothing could make us feel cozy all year long? Well, Outlast® is just the right clothing. It provides thermal comfort by regulating temperature across all seasons.
Outlast® Temperature Regulation Technology actively regulates the increase in skin temperature over the day. The garment ensures thermal comfort irrespective of the activity or season. It works with proactive heat and moisture management.
How Outlast® Temperature Regulation works:
Outlast® material absorbs the wearer’s body heat. Here, Phase Change Materials (PCMs) are employed. It consists of thousands of tiny microencapsulated wax molecules which liquify and solidify under the influence of heat. Usually, the wax is based on rapeseed oil.
The physical state of the wax changes using the thermal energy. The body heat does not make the wearer feel hot but rather makes the natural wax melt. It acts as a heat buffer by reducing the user’s heat peaks and prevents sweat formation by up to 48 per cent.
Cooling Effect:
When the body is overheated, heat is released. The thermocules absorb this heat and store it, creating a cool microclimate next to our skin. The molecules turn into solid from liquid. Advanced moisture management technique allows moisture evaporation from body and prevents sweat formation.

Heating Effect:
When the skin temperature goes down, the thermocules release the trapped heat. As a result, it creates a heating effect. The wearer feels warm. The molecules turn into liquid from solid.

Advantages of Temperature Regulating Fabric:
Better sleep: A balanced temperature provides a good night’s sleep.
Comfy footwear: Due to reduced moisture, less blister is formed and feet remain odor-free.
Athletic performance: Good temperature regulation ensures reduced sweating which results in less energy consumption and an excellent fluid balance.

Feel-good clothing: More comfort is felt in all kinds of textiles. In health and safety textiles, better concentration and higher performance are seen. All orthopedic “next to skin” products show improved functionality.
In leisure: Outlast® incorporated clothing. reduces the risk of a cold when hiking, gardening, or during any other leisure activity. Thermal comfort clothing offers comfort in extreme weather during outdoor activities.
Despite the shifting external temperatures and environmental conditions, the wearer can thus always enjoy a wonderfully balanced microclimate next to skin.
